CLEARFIELD, Pa. (WJAC) — According to a criminal complaint filed Monday, a Pittsburgh man is facing numerous charges including felony corruption of a minor after he solicited sex from what he believed was an underage girl.
Clearfield Borough Police say they were notified Sunday that the group 814 Pred Hunters was at the Sheetz located at 101 Nichols St. with a man that was there to meet a 15-year-old girl for sex.
Police say that they spoke with 814 Pred Hunters when they arrived at the scene and were advised that the group had started an online conversation with 38-year-old Richard Allen Fix IV through a decoy on an online app.
According to the complaint, the decoy started the conversation with Fix on the “Meetme” app before transitioning to text, and the group provided police with a binder including print outs of the conversations.
Police say the conversations, which began Saturday, showed the decoy made it clear she was 15-years-old within the first minute or two and Fix acknowledged her age but continued attempting to solicit sex.
Fix also sent the decoy sexually explicit pictures of himself, police say, and asked for pictures from her.
The complaint says Fix agreed to meet the decoy at Sheetz where he was arrested by police.
Police say that during an interview at the police station, Fix admitted that he had the conversations in the binder and wanted to meet the underage decoy for sex.
According to the complaint, Fix also drove to the Sheetz even though his license was DUI suspended.
Fix is being held in Clearfield County Prison on $100,000 bail, the criminal docket says.
